How to Decrease Cramps

Updated: Mar 16, 2022

Did you know that 80% of women experience period pain at some stage in their lifetime, 20% of women suffer from cramping severe enough to interfere with daily activities, 10% of women experience pain severe enough to disrupt their life, and 31% of women are put on the pill due to menstrual cramps and pain?

Menstrual cramps and pain, although common is actually NOT normal and is totally preventable through diet, lifestyle and supplements.

Here are my favourite ways to prevent a painful period:

  1. Reduce sugar, alcohol & coffee intake

  2. Include anti-inflammatory & hormone balancing supplements such as Magnesium, Omega-3, Turmeric, B complex

  3. Reduce stress & set time aside for more self care

  4. Avoid cold foods during & around menstruation

  5. A nourishing diet higher in protein, healthy fats, fibre & colour
